Position Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Mid/Senior QA Automation Engineer to join the team. This is a critical position that requires a dual-focus expert: an advanced automation developer who can build scalable end-to-end (E2E) test frameworks from scratch using Playwright, and an experienced performance tester capable of simulating complex user loads and identifying infrastructure bottlenecks using Apache JMeter.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Create, update and execute (manual or automated) test scripts and analyze user stories / cases / requirements for validity and feasibility
- Architect, develop, and maintain robust, scalable automated UI and API test frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript or Python)
- Performance Testing (JMeter): Plan, script, and execute comprehensive load, stress, and endurance tests using Apache JMeter to ensure application stability under peak user traffic
- Analysis & Optimization: Analyze complex test results to identify performance bottlenecks (memory leaks, slow database queries, API latency), report detailed defects, and provide actionable optimization recommendations.
- CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Embed automated regression suites and performance testing checkpoints directly into the client's CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) for continuous testing.
- Review and analyze system specification and business rules embedded in the application
- Provide application documentation and support
- Collaborate closely with other team members to develop effective strategies and test plans
- Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies and provide timely solutions
- Complete activities in given stipulated time and ensure that the Project Schedules are met in a timely manner
- Ensure that you have completed document updates for inclusion with the current software release
- Work proactively to meet the project deadlines with quality deliverables
- Adhere to project deadlines by means of proper self-planning in accordance with the project schedules provided by the Project Manager
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with Managers, Leads, and team members
- Ensure that the work is executed in accordance with the project & quality plans
- Mentorship & Advocacy: Guide junior/mid-level QA analysts, conduct code reviews for test scripts, and champion automation best practices.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- 4 to 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a heavy focus on Test Automation (Mid to Senior level).
- Playwright Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience building out E2E testing frameworks using Playwright. Deep understanding of modern locators, auto waiting, async/await patterns, and the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern.
- JMeter Proficiency: Extensive experience creating sophisticated JMeter scripts. Must be highly skilled in parameterization, assertions, distributed testing, and correlating dynamic values.
- Programming Languages: Strong coding proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python and Shell Scripting.
- Agile & DevOps: Solid understanding of Agile workflows and hands‑on experience integrating testing tools into continuous deployment pipelines.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate technical challenges, testing strategies, and optimization solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical client stakeholders.
- Must be amenable to working onsite 1-2 days a week in McKinley, Taguig, on a mid‑shift schedule.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud‑based load testing environments (e.g., BlazeMeter, Flood.io).
- Strong API testing experience using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent tools.
- Background working with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools such as Datadog, New Relic, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.
