- Develop team leaders and operators to achieve required skills and capabilities. Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees. Communicating job expectations: planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Supports hiring and training of manufacturing operators, resolve employee issues, prepares improvement and development plan for the team lead and operators
- Take the lead in solving operational issues and resolve permanently. Drive improvement projects (through Ka‑zen) to further improve operations capabilities. Formulate alternative cost saving strategies, and manage production budgets. Monitors, maintain, controls ordering, and physical inventory of all consumables, supplies, and spare parts
- Supervise the manufacturing operations and ensures procedures are carried out in accordance with 1509001 guidelines. Carry out control checks and provide status reports and alerts team when quality is jeopardized due to process variations, equipment breakdown, and process non‑compliance. Works with team leaders to formulate work schedules for daily activities based on production requirements. Supports timely shipments to customer and verifies that all documentation are included
- Periodically analyze operator workload and performance to improve takt time and work procedure efficiency to achieve better production cycle time
- Ensure safety and health regulations are understood and complied with in the manufacturing operations at all times
Education & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or its equivalents with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in Production Supervision
Skills
- General knowledge of semiconductor or optoelectronics manufacturing experience. With hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment and has strong management skills
- Experience facilitating improvement projects and Kaizen. With knowledge on methods for waste elimination, efficiency improvement, yield improvement, and cycle time improvement
- Requires skill set to breakdown complex operations with a process‑oriented mindset for analysis and creation of strategic plan
- Experience assessing manufacturing processes through the use of PFMEA, process capability analysis, root cause analysis, and design of experiments
- Basic manufacturing statistics knowledge – correlation, process optimization, hypothesis testing, coefficient of variance analysis, Six Sigma, and some statistical process control methodologies
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand. Knowledge on problem solving methodologies such as 8D, RCA, Why‑Why analysis, hypothesis testing and validation, etc. Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Understand line balance, scheduling, cycle times, and inventory control. Can interpret variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- With knowledge on statistical methodologies and tools. Working knowledge of SAS/JMP or Minitab is a strong plus
- With knowledge on production planning and control performance indicators – customer OTD, downtime, inventory turns, stock variance, cost savings – and how to use them to improve internal business processes
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Must have the ability to lead cross‑functional teams consisting of operators, technicians, and engineers. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑pace development environment
