Job summary
Twoconnect is seeking a Power BI Data Lead to design, develop, and continuously improve Power BI reporting and data solutions for an international mining and construction client base.
The role combines hands-on delivery with technical leadership across data modelling, DAX, Power Query, and data quality, collaborating with Australian stakeholders to deliver scalable reporting that informs decisions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in Power BI development, BI, data analytics or similar.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and developing complex dashboards.
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Service, DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
- Strong SQL capability across multiple data sources.
- Experience leading or providing technical direction on BI/data projects.
- Ability to translate business priorities into scalable BI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, maintenance, and improvement of Power BI dashboards and data solutions.
- Translate complex reporting requirements into practical BI solutions with stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain standards across BI development, data modelling, and documentation.
- Design and maintain robust data models, relationships, calculations, and measures.
- Develop and optimise DAX measures, Power Query, and SQL queries.
- Review dashboards and data models for accuracy, performance, and usability.
- Monitor report performance and data refreshes to ensure reliable outputs.
- Investigate data issues and identify practical solutions.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate reporting and automate recurring tasks.
- Support data quality and reporting governance and provide technical guidance.
