IE University’s School of Politics, Economics & Global Affairs (SPEGA) seeks a Postdoctoral Researcher to join its team in Madrid. The four-year ERC-funded project (DIS)EMPOWER investigates how automation shapes workers’ power in the workplace and in democratic politics, using surveys, fieldwork, and elite interviews.

This 100% research-focused position offers resources for travel, and opportunities to design data collection and publish articles; English is the working language and candidates

Qualifications

• PhD in political science, political economy, industrial relations or related field, or evidence PhD will be completed by start of position.
• Experience with mixed methods and qualitative research (e.g., interviews).
• Working language is English; fluency in another relevant language is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the implementation of the DIS)EMPOWER ERC Consolidator Project and contribute to publication of scientific articles.
• Conduct empirical research with a focus on empirical work packages.
• Design and conduct data collection through surveys, fieldwork, and elite interviews.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate empirical methods.
• Present research findings at academic conferences and disseminate project results.
• Develop independent research projects aligned with the candidate's own agenda.
