Field Technician – Job Description

The Field Technician plays a crucial role in efficiently and effectively fulfilling and managing clients’ service requests — from asset receiving and safekeeping through preparation, testing, deployment, post-deployment, and reporting, including asset care and management.

Responsibilities
Inventory Management
  • Receive and safekeep POS terminals, accessories, and peripherals at all times until the scheduled deployment
  • Keep track and hold full responsibility and accountability over all received company assets in view of the field service assignment
Terminal Preparation
  • Check applications installed and ensure accuracy and completeness of all necessary downloaded profiles/data in the POS terminal prior to installation
Deployment and Servicing
  • Deploy new terminals and/or peripherals or replace previous installations
  • Provide on-site checking, reprogramming or deprogramming, and other services in accordance with customer’s specifications and requirements, including agreed service turnaround time or completion
Testing and Calibration
  • Test and calibrate installed equipment to ensure proper functionality and performance
  • Provide training to merchants to ensure that all merchant cashiers understand the functionality, basic care, and security of the deployed terminals
Troubleshooting
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues and malfunctions efficiently
On-Site Support
  • Provide on-site technical support and assistance to customers, addressing their concerns and resolving issues promptly
Communication
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with customers, keeping them informed about the status of every deployment or post-deployment service done
Service Reports
  • Accomplish in full the required details in the field service and other related reports for every field service done
  • Technical Vocational graduate/any Technical-related college degree or undergraduate.
  • Computer literate and knowledgeable in Basic Windows Applications.
  • Has a motorcycle, updated driver’s license, and ORCR.
  • Has experience or a background in providing good customer service is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Willing to do Fieldwork.
  • Willing to work on Holidays and render overtime/on-call per business requirement.
  • Willing to be trained in our Manila office.
