Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification preferred.
• Experience as an auto mechanic for vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Familiarity with tools, machinery, and repair equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Must have motor vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and heavy equipment upon discharge from vessels to identify malfunctions.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement of defective parts to restore units to optimal working condition.
• Test repaired units to ensure proper functionality before releasing them.
• Coordinate with operations and logistics teams regarding status of repaired units.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Keep tools, equipment, and the workshop organized and in good working condition.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and guidelines.
• Perform other duties related to vehicle and equipment maintenance as assigned.
