Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Engineering Professional to join our design team in supporting challenging projects across thriving cities and critical infrastructure. You will contribute to piping engineering, 2D/3D modelling, and cross-disciplinary integration, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and timely delivery.

You will lead piping layout reviews, prepare line lists, and collaborate with vendors and other disciplines to optimize installations and project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare piping layout and 2D/3D modelling of piping systems, structures, and equipment.
• Participate in piping 3D model reviews and technical meetings.
• Evaluate equipment and piping layouts to optimize installation.
• Prepare piping line lists, MTO, layout and isometrics.
• Review vendor drawings for conformance to piping material specifications.
• Perform pipe wall thickness calculations and pressure-retaining assessments.

Your impact

As a Piping Engineering Professional, you will be an integral member of the design team, counted on to perform a significant portion of Piping engineering and design for our projects. You will need strong communication and interpersonal skills as you work closely with your Piping Lead, other Piping Stress Engineers and Designers, and other disciplines.

It is expected that you have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Piping Engineering, knowledge of multiple subject areas, experience with specific codes applicable to Piping, understand how Piping design integrates with and impacts other disciplines. You will be given as much responsibility as you are willing to take, and your opportunities for career growth will be limited only by your own motivation, capabilities, and attitude.

Here's what you'll need

• Responsible for the preparation of piping layout and 2D/3D Modelling of piping system, structure, and equipment
• Participate technical meeting and all the piping 3D model reviews.
• Evaluate equipment and piping layout to optimize installation
• Prepared piping support, MTO, layout and isometrics
• Reviewing and approving vendor drawings
• Prepare Piping Line List. Review all PIDs for conformance to the piping material specifications
• Select special piping material components not covered by piping material specifications and prepare SP Item List
• Prepare pipe wall (pressure and vacuum), spectacle blind, and other required material and component pressure-retaining thickness calculations.

Take responsibility for managing workload, make and keep commitments, and take full ownership of assigned work

• You may be given tasks with ill-defined conditions of satisfaction; in which case you will be expected to take the initiative to determine what is needed to meet the project and client needs
• Be ready to identify scope change and elevate it to your Piping Lead or Project Manager
• Recognize when help is needed, reaching out to peers and senior engineers for guidance
• Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail.
