• Medication Therapy Management (MTM): Evaluate the effectiveness of medication regimens, adjusting doses as necessary and providing solutions for drug-related problems.
• Health Screenings & Immunizations: Administer vaccines and conduct health screenings for conditions like diabetes, cholesterol, and blood pressure.
• Consulting with Healthcare Providers: Work with doctors and other healthcare professionals to optimize treatment plans and ensure patient safety.
• Inventory Management: Maintain proper stock of medications, ensuring proper storage conditions and managing supply orders.
• Pharmacy Degree: A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree is required. This typically takes 4 years to complete after obtaining a bachelor’s degree (or a pre-pharmacy program).
• Internship/Residency: Clinical experience through internships or residencies during or after pharmacy school is often required to gain hands-on practice in various pharmacy settings.
