Job summary

Thinking Machines Data Science is looking for a Project Manager to oversee data science projects in a remote-first environment. The role requires managing schedules, interfacing with clients, and ensuring timely delivery of projects while maintaining a motivated team.

The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of project management experience and excellent communication skills. A hybrid working arrangement will involve in-person meetings in Metro Manila a few times a week.

Role: Project Manager

As a Project Manager you are key to the successful and timely delivery of our data science projects. You will be the main point of contact for clients, keeping them informed of milestones, blockers, or changes. You will manage the project schedule, backlog, and to‑do lists, and systematically break down large requests into actionable tasks. You will establish workflows, remove blockers, address risks, and keep the team motivated and efficient.

Qualifications and Competencies

• 3+ years of project management experience, successfully shipping or completing technology‑focused products or software development projects.
• Strong external communication skills to interact with client and internal teams of varying seniority.
• Proven ability to get things done and rally teammates to complete tasks.
• Great adaptability and flexibility, able to change strategies as plans veer off‑course.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, ask the right questions, and make complex topics understandable.
• Quick learning ability – research diligently and fill gaps in knowledge.
• Strong initiative, taking ownership of tasks beyond assigned scope.

Work Location

Flexible and willing to accommodate periodic face‑to‑face meetings with clients within Metro Manila. While we operate as a remote‑first company, certain project phases will require in‑person interactions, and Project Managers are expected to attend on‑site meetings.
