Job summary

EY's Risk Management Services in the Philippines seeks an Associate Analyst to evaluate client engagement risks and independence issues. You will work with EY GDS to support compliance and risk mitigation for audit clients, performing research and analysis in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The role requires 0-1 year of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively across global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
• 0-1 year in Research Analyst or Finance roles; international interactions preferred
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Understanding of financial instruments such as shares, mutual funds, and insurance

About Risk Management Services (RMS):

Risk Management Services (RMS) is an internal function within EY GDS (Global Delivery services), responsible for protecting the organization from the risks that may arise from its professional practice. We work closely with all parts of the organization to identify and manage risks, providing coordinated advice and assistance on suite of services like Independence, Conflicts, Compliance, regulatory, policy and security issues as well as dealing with claims and queries regarding ethics. Formed in 2007, the RMS team is growing rapidly as a Center of Excellence for all standardized quality/compliance related activities.

The opportunity

This opportunity will enable the professional to help the firm and its client serving professionals in making right decisions with respect to client & engagement acceptance, in sync with EY internal compliance policies and regulatory framework. This role will assist in evaluating the risks associated with each client & engagement and suggest ways to mitigate them. As an independence professional, this opportunity enables to drive projects for identifying & evaluations risks associates with firm's audit clients, specifically maintaining firm's independence with respect to audit clients and helping engagement teams in alleviating them.

The candidate should be comfortable working in an unstructured & complex environment requiring out of box thinking, logical reasoning, sound communication skills and ability to make quick decisions. The candidate should be able to continuously add value to assigned processes and develop solutions for situations that may not have been previously documented.

Your key responsibilities

• Conduct research using both systematic and intuitive secondary research techniques
• Analyze the research findings, draw inferences and conclusions in response to the research requirement
• Understands key requirements of firm and regulators' risk management rules and policies
• Uses analytical and project management methodology and tools
• Completes all assigned projects/tasks in line with the standard operating procedures
• Ensures completeness, accuracy and appropriateness of all tasks assigned
• Facilitates and drives the process to completion by timely following up on requests from engagement teams
• Plans and organizes own work and keeps the project managers/key stakeholders informed of status and activities
• Performs a self-review of the results prior to submitting to the project managers
• Flags issues/potential challenges to the project managers at an appropriate time so that timely action can be initiated

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelors Degrees: Any course in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
• Work Experience: 0-1 year in Research Analyst roles, Finance roles, Secondary Research, or similar functions
• Exposure to international customer or client interactions (preferred)
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Understanding of financial instruments such as shares, mutual funds, and insurance

Ideally, you'll also have

• Basic understanding of risk management and auditor independence concepts
• Presentation and visual communication skills (e.g., PowerPoint)
• Ability to analyze data and solve problems independently

Preferred Qualifications ("Plus Points")

• Experience with data analysis tools, familiarity with financial databases, strong analytical writing skills, and basic knowledge of regulatory/independence requirements

Technologies and Tools

• Intermediate proficiency in MS office suites like Microsoft 365, MS excel, PowerPoint
