AECOM Philippines, Inc. is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to handle day-to-day ANZ payroll processing.

You will support junior members with guidance and leverage expertise to resolve complex process issues in compliance with local regulations, policies, and audit requirements. The role involves leading complex payroll activities, ensuring accuracy, statutory compliance, and continuous process improvement across payroll functions.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in Finance or Accounting.
  • With solid experience in processing ANZ region payroll, exposure to end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools.
  • Advanced working knowledge and understanding of HR processes and procedures.
  • Advanced working experience in a high-volume/high-headcount payroll processing.
  • Solid experience working with Payroll Systems and other HR Systems preferably in Oracle, and Workday.
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex payroll activities in compliance with established procedures and methodologies.
  • Perform taxation, legislative and statutory obligations, and preparation of returns.
  • Lead and support in ensuring up-to-date processes and compliance with changes for accurate payroll processing.
  • Contribute as subject matter expert by applying technical expertise in the payroll process.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members on query resolutions and process exceptions.
  • Develop and prepare reports, analyses, and presentations for periodic and ad hoc requirements.
  • Address issues with guidance from Team Lead and propose preventive measures.
  • Work with Team Lead on process improvement initiatives to streamline processes and improve customer experience.
  • Create and update SOP/DTP of current and new processes and document updates.
  • Resolve identified issues and keep the Team Lead updated on ongoing concerns.
  • Participate in various process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and onboarding.

Job Description

This role is responsible for day-to-day processing of assigned payroll activities for the ANZ region. The role will also further support junior members of the team by providing process guidance and leverage on expertise to solve complex process issues in compliance with relevant local regulations, policies, procedures, and methodologies support with the necessary audit requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Perform complex payroll activities in compliance with established procedures, strategies, and methodologies.
  • Perform taxation, legislative and statutory obligations, effective processing and preparation of returns, documents management, and maintenance of key processes.
  • Lead and support in ensuring up-to-date processes and compliance with legislative, award, and other region-specific changes for accurate payroll processing.
  • Contribute as subject matter expert by applying technical expertise in the overall payroll process.
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior members of the team regarding query resolutions for unique cases and process exceptions, completing projects, and performing (sub-process) activities.
  • Develop and prepare multiple reports, analyses, and presentations for periodic and ad hoc requirements.
  • Address critical and unique issues with the guidance of Team Lead for timely resolution of escalated issues. Identify risks and propose ways to prevent occurrence of similar issues and concerns.
  • Work with Team Lead to develop process improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve customer experience, and increase productivity.
  • Create and update SOP/DTP of current and new processes and incorporate documentation updates as required.
  • Resolve identified issues and keep the Team Lead updated for open or ongoing concerns.
  • Be involved in various and simultaneous process improvement initiatives to streamline processes, improve customer experience, and increase productivity.
  • Facilitate in audit-related programs.
  • Perform complex tasks in compliance with service level agreement, process, policies, procedures, and SOX & internal controls.
  • Lead and support key projects, audit reviews, activities, and documentation.
  • Keeping knowledge of legislation that affects the payroll up to date by research and subscriptions as well as attendance at various workshops and training seminars
  • Providing accurate and timely payroll information and reports to stakeholders as needed
  • Planning staff workload on a daily basis and assisting them in the completion of assigned tasks and duties within reported deadlines.
  • Monitor and respond to Employee Centre support requests as it pertains to Payroll Services
  • Lead the implementation of assigned project activities and support in continuous improvement efforts
