Job summary

Visa is seeking an experienced APAC Payroll Leader to manage daily payroll operations across Asia Pacific, ensure compliance with local laws, and drive efficiency initiatives. You will lead a team, interact with cross-functional partners, and guide projects related to acquisitions and global initiatives.

The role requires deep APAC payroll knowledge, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to coach juniors.

Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of people management experience.
  • Deep working knowledge in APAC payroll statutory regulations.
  • Able to maintain good working relationships with payroll vendors and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of payroll risks, compliance and controls within complex and multi country environments.
  • Proficiencies in automation and use of AI tools.
  • Meticulous with strong analytical, organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, hands on, growth oriented work environment.
  • Exposure and knowledge of working with various payroll systems.
  • Exposure to knowledge transfer activities such as transition planning, knowledge transfer, process documentation, etcetera.
  • Proficient in English communication skills both verbal and written and with customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates with the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese will have an advantage.

Job Description

The role will lead and manage the Asia Pacific payroll operations by ensuring the execution of day-to-day payroll work and strategic projects of the department, drive process efficiencies and assist in integration projects related to the company acquisitions and global initiatives. We are looking for a candidate that has strong leadership, stakeholder’s management and able to support and coach more junior team members. The role will involve leading and managing the payroll operations and have frequent and regular interactions with cross functional departments and senior management throughout the company.

The high level role requirements are listed below

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery and legislative compliance to local labor laws and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee more junior members of the team with delivery of end to end payroll.
  • Ensure queries are attended to in a timely and customer centric manner.
  • Ensure all payroll related data are handled in accordance with company guidelines and policies.
  • Produce analytics and recommendations to improve overall operational execution and efficiency.
  • Contribute to develop, maintain, update, and communicate organization wide payroll policies and processes regarding earnings, deductions, time keeping as well as government compliance reporting.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective processes and issues resolution.
  • Oversee internal and external audits, and other related compliance documentation required by government agencies.
  • Participate in payroll projects or change requests to improve existing working environment.

Visarequiresat least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
