Astoria Hotels and Resorts is seeking a capable Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support the legal team with research, document preparation, and case management. You will organize files, monitor deadlines, and liaise with clients and government agencies to ensure timely handling of matters.
The role requires strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management tools is essential.
Assist attorney/s with legal research, case preparation, and document review.
Draft, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and other case-related materials.
Maintain and organize case files, records, and legal databases.
Assist with filing and monitoring court and regulatory documents and deadlines.
Conduct legal research and prepare summaries, reports, and case notes.
Coordinate with clients, courts, government agencies, opposing counsel, and other parties as directed.
Prepare materials for hearings, meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
Track case deadlines, appointments, and important legal dates.
Perform administrative and clerical duties related to legal matters.
Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information.
Provide general support to attorneys and the legal team as needed.
Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Paralegal Studies, Political Science, or a related field.
Previous experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a legal support role is preferred.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology, documentation, and office procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong research, analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common document-management tools.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
Experience with legal research and case management systems.
Familiarity with court filing procedures and legal documentation.
Strong proofreading and document-editing skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and other team members.
