Job summary

Astoria Hotels and Resorts is seeking a capable Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support the legal team with research, document preparation, and case management. You will organize files, monitor deadlines, and liaise with clients and government agencies to ensure timely handling of matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Legal Management, Paralegal Studies, Political Science or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a legal support role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of legal terminology, documentation, and office procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorney/s with legal research, case preparation, and document review.
  • Draft, proofread, and organize legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and other case-related materials.
  • Maintain and organize case files, records, and legal databases.
  • Assist with filing and monitoring court and regulatory documents and deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare summaries, reports, and case notes.
  • Coordinate with clients, courts, government agencies, opposing counsel, and other parties as directed.
  • Prepare materials for hearings, meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
  • Track case deadlines, appointments, and important legal dates.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties related to legal matters.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client and firm information.
  • Provide general support to attorneys and the legal team as needed.
