• Surface preparation:Cleaning, scraping, sanding, and patching walls, ceilings, and other surfaces. This also includes covering floors and furniture to protect them from paint and spills.
• Material handling:Mixing paint, stains, and varnishes to achieve the correct color, consistency, and finish.
Application of finishes:Applying primers, paints, sealants, and other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
• Minor repairs:Repairing cracks and holes in walls and ceilings with fillers like putty or plaster.
• Equipment and site management:Erecting scaffolding, ladders, and staging; cleaning tools and the work area; and properly disposing of hazardous materials.
• Project management:Calculating material needs, estimating project costs, and completing projects on time and within budget.
• Client communication:Discussing project requirements and ensuring satisfaction with the final result.
• Safety compliance:Following all safety guidelines and regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
