Job summary

Tenet Global Business Center, Inc. is seeking an experienced Coding Supervisor to oversee coding, data abstraction, and related activities across regional facilities.

You will ensure accurate coding in line with Official Coding Guidelines and organizational policies, manage workflow, and drive productivity to meet unbilled targets. Lead a team, mentor staff, monitor performance, and implement process improvements while maintaining high coding quality and regulatory compliance in the Philippines

Qualifications

• The applicant has thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and/or CPT/HCPCS coding principles in line with Official Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of disease processes, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and DRG classification/reimbursement structures.
• Analytical ability to prepare diverse reports and records.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of department personnel.
• Competency in 3M software, including multiple groupers and related applications.
• Bachelor's Degree in an allied health field.
• CPC, COC or CCS certification preferred.
• 5+ years coding experience with strong leadership potential.
• 6+ months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day coding staff operations including staffing and work assignments.
• Monitor time off and attendance reports.
• Identify opportunities for bill hold reductions and reduce account turnaround time.
• Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and implement approved changes.
• Ensure DNFC targets are met by mitigating downtime and timely coding TAT.
• Produce productivity and quality reports; apply performance improvement plans as needed.
• Identify training needs; design, develop, schedule, and implement training activities.
• Collaborate with coding manager to address missed revenue opportunities and record integrity.
• Implement policies and procedures to ensure clear, consistent coding operations.
• Participate in supervisory functions including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining staff.

About the role

Reporting to the Coding Manager, you will be responsible for supervising coding, data abstraction and associated coding activities. You will ensure accurate and timely coding of records according to Official Coding Guidelines, and policies and procedures. You will manage workflow related to coding and abstracting, provide direction for coding activities and productivity standards required to reach unbilled targets at all facilities in the region, and perform duties as necessary to support the coding quality improvement process.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the coding staff including staffing and work assignments
• Monitor time off and attendance reports
• Identify opportunities for bill hold reductions and reduce turnaround time on outstanding accounts
• Identify opportunities for efficiencies, review processes, and implement as approved
• Ensure DNFC targets are met by mitigating downtime, decreasing holds, and ensuring timely coding TAT
• Manage productivity and quality reports to ensure coding quality standards are met and include performance improvement plans when applicable
• Identify training needs for staff; design, develop, schedule, and implement training activities
• Work with the coding manager to identify and address missed opportunities regarding revenue, reconciliation of discharge disposition status and record integrity
• Implement policies and procedures to assure clear and consistent operation of coding areas while meeting departmental and organizational needs
• Participate in supervisory functions including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining direct reports

About you

• Thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and/or CPT/HCPCS coding principles associated with Official Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Working knowledge of disease processes, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and knowledge of DRG classification and reimbursement structure
• Analytical abilities necessary to prepare various reports and records
• Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with all levels of department personnel
• Competency in the use of 3M software, including multiple groupers as well as all computer applications in area of responsibility
• Bachelor's Degree in any allied health field
• CPC, COC, or CCS Certification
• 5+ Years Coding Experience
• 6+ months of Leadership Experience
