Job summary

White Cloak Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer (NestJS) to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build secure, high-performance applications in an agile environment.

The role requires 3–5+ years of software development, strong TS/JS skills, and hands-on NestJS experience. You will contribute to architecture, reviews, and deployment pipelines while ensuring security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5+ years of professional software development experience.
• At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience with NestJS.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of Node.js architecture and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with ORM libraries such as TypeORM, Prisma, or Sequelize.
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2).
• Experience using Git and modern version control workflows.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns and clean architecture principles.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and RESTful APIs using NestJS and TypeScript.
• Build scalable, maintainable, and secure microservices and backend systems.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write clean, well-documented, and reusable code following best engineering practices.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Design and implement database schemas and optimize SQL queries.
• Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and technical planning.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Ensure applications meet security and compliance standards.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
