Job Description

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Multimedia Designer & Social Media Manager to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in producing visually compelling graphics and multimedia content to elevate our news coverage and engage our audience across various digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong design background, experience in social media management, and a passion for storytelling through digital media.

Key Responsibilities:

• Graphic and Video Design
• Design and create visually appealing graphics, infographics, and videos that complement news articles, advertisements, and special content, ensuring high-quality visual storytelling.
• Maintain brand consistency across all multimedia materials.
• Social Media Management
• Develop, implement, and manage social media campaigns across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) using META Business Suite.
• Monitor social media trends, engagement analytics, and develop strategies to increase audience interaction and readership.
• Respond to user comments and messages on social platforms in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaboration with Editorial Team
• Work closely with award-winning journalists and editors to align visual content with news stories, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely content.
• Client Relations and Sponsorships
• Manage communications with clients and potential sponsors to secure paid content, partnerships, and advertising opportunities.
• Collaborate with the editorial and sales teams to develop sponsored articles and advertisements that align with the NT Independent’s values and mission.
• Develop and execute email marketing campaigns using MailChimp, creating newsletters that engage subscribers with the latest news, exclusive stories, and offers.
• Coordinate and execute digital marketing campaigns that promote news articles, special projects, and subscriptions.
• Web Design & Maintenance
• Design and optimize responsive web and mobile layouts for the website, ensuring a seamless user experience across different devices.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of website modules and features on WordPress, ensuring functionality and visual appeal.
• Subscription and Customer Support
• Provide assistance with subscription-related inquiries, including payments, refunds, cancellations, and invoicing.
• Handle customer service issues related to digital subscriptions using payment platforms such as Stripe and PayPal.
• Reporting & Analytics
• Regularly track and report on the performance of the website and social media channels, providing insights and recommendations to the editorial team.

Use tools like Google Analytics and social media insights to inform decisions and improve content performance

• Proven experience in multimedia design (graphic design, video editing, etc.) and social media management.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, etc.), and video editing software.
• Experience with website management, particularly WordPress, and an understanding of web design best practices.
