ML Engineer
Location: Boston or NYC office (engineers are expected to meet in-person regularly).
Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine‑learning software systems to address large‑scale healthcare challenges, working closely with software engineers, research scientists, and product teams.
You can expect to:
- Architect efficient, secure, reliable, and performant ML pipelines and infrastructure.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, data‑centric backend infrastructure for our product.
- Translate cutting‑edge LLM research into production, delivering value for customers.
- Work with complex, large‑scale, real‑world clinical data (structured and unstructured) in a cloud‑based environment.
- Develop methods and features to ensure high‑quality results for production models (drift detection, observability tooling, etc.).
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to improve products and build next‑generation ML for healthcare.
- Build scalable infrastructure to support efficient model development and deployment pipelines, CI/CD, testing, experimentation.
- Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and error handling for deployed systems.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in machine learning and AI.
- Cultivate a strong ML engineering and product culture that drives the company forward.
We look for:
- 3+ years of experience building ML‑native backend infrastructure.
- 5‑7+ years of backend and cloud platform software development, with flexibility to traverse the stack.
- Fluency in backend languages such as Python (primary), Golang, Rust, or Java.
- Familiarity with modern ML/LLM techniques and frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Experience developing end‑to‑end ML systems (design, training, inference, deployment, monitoring); bonus for LLM work.
- Experience developing and maintaining performant, scalable, data‑centric enterprise software products.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Team player who is excited to disrupt healthcare with AI/ML in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
- We are a Boston‑based company and expect engineers to meet in person in either our NYC or Boston office (engineers from Boston, NYC, or East Coast are welcome).
Expected compensation range: $160,000‑200,000 plus stock options, depending on experience and fit, may change over time.
