Job summary

SB Finance is seeking an MIS Officer to deliver and automate MIS and risk reports for monitoring new origination and portfolio performance. You will maintain a timely, high-quality database used for regular portfolio assessment and governance, supporting policy refinement in line with credit risk strategies and risk appetite.

Responsibilities include preparing integrated data from multiple sources, ensuring data integrity, and generating the monthly Credit Risk Pack and Portfolio Quality

• Experience with a database (Data Warehouse) and data analysis.
• Experience with SAS, SQL, and R.
• Portfolio management experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates data inconsistencies by breaking data into components to make figures comprehensible.
• Collaborates with departments to understand performance data trends and reporting needs.
• Proactively seeks clarifications for any data inconsistencies.
• Develops data processing programs and reporting tools using SAS or similar software to generate standardized reports.
• Coordinates data availability with data owners to meet processing schedules.
• Generates monthly Credit Risk Pack and Portfolio Quality Reports with timely and accurate data.
• Provides insights on data trends to refine business strategies and decisions.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Head of Credit Risk.

The MIS Officer delivers and automates MIS and risk reports for monitoring both new origination and existing portfolio to support acquisition and portfolio related analysis and governance. The role focuses on maintaining a timely generated and of good quality database used for the regular assessment of portfolio quality which aids in the continuous policy and process refinement in line with the credit risk strategies and business risk appetite

Job Description

Analytical Thinking

• Prepares an integrated database from the various data sources of the bank using spreadsheets and data programming tools to extract relevant and useful information
• Evaluates inconsistencies by breaking the data into its component parts to make sure figures being reported are comprehensible

Effective Communication Skills

• Collaborates with various departments through regular discussions to have a better understanding of the performance data trends and other reporting requirements.
• Proactively asks questions or clarifications for any data inconsistencies.

Technology Adeptness

• Develops data processing programs and reporting tools using SAS or other similar software to efficiently generate standardized reports and easily capture quantitative data.

Planning and Organizing

• Coordinates availability of data by following-up with various data owners or processors via email, chat or phone to be able to process data per schedule

Quality Orientation

• Generates accurate reports on a timely basis by following a structured process to ensure compliance with the approved SLA.
• Ensure monthly Credit Risk Pack and Portfolio Quality Reports are completed in a timely manner with accurate data. Provide insights on data trends, help to investigate and highlight the findings to the team/relevant stakeholders to aid in refining business strategies and decisions

Performs other related tasks which may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Credit Risk to support same objective of setting up and executing a robust end to end credit risk framework for business growth and development within the set business risk appetite.

Qualifications

• Able to deal with database (Data Warehouse knowledge), perform analysis and spot data errors
• Experience with data tools – SAS, SQL, R, etc
• Portfolio management experience
• Strong analytical skill and logical thinking
• Advanced computer skill especially Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in English both speaking and writing
• Good organization and communication skill
