A Mechanical Technicianinstalls, maintains, and repairs mechanical systems and equipment, troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, reading schematics, and working with engineers to ensure machinery runs efficiently and safely in various industries like manufacturing, transport, or HVAC. Key duties include diagnosing faults, assembling/disassembling components, calibrating settings, and using hand/power tools, while adhering to strict safety standards and documenting work.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repair:Perform routine inspections, diagnose problems, and repair/replace faulty mechanical parts (pumps, bearings, seals).
- Installation & Assembly:Install new systems, assemble/disassemble equipment for maintenance or upgrades, and fabricate parts.
- Troubleshooting:Identify and resolve complex mechanical issues using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Preventive Maintenance:Conduct scheduled maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Collaboration:Work with engineers and other technicians on projects, providing data and feedback.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Safety:Ensure all tasks comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
