As a Mechanical Engineer, this role involves creating technical plans, overseeing manufacturing, and ensuring products meet performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness standards. You will use tools such as CAD software for design and analysis and collaborate with other teams to bring concepts to a finished, functional product.
Design and development: Research, design, and develop new mechanical and thermal devices or redesign existing ones to solve problems. This includes using computer-aided design (CAD) and performing simulations.
Analysis and testing: Analyze mechanical and thermal devices to assess performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend improvements. They also develop and test prototypes to analyze test results and make design changes.
Fabrication and installation: Oversee the fabrication process to ensure quality control, and establish standards for installation, maintenance, and inspection.
Project management: Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources. They work on project teams to ensure projects meet specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
Collaboration: Work with other professionals like electrical engineers, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet all requirements.
Maintenance: Inspect and direct the maintenance of plant equipment, buildings, and other installations to ensure they are performing optimally.
