The Material Planner is responsible for planning and monitoring the materials requirement of the department, both direct and indirect, ensuring accurate inventory, efficient production flow at the least possible cost. S/he is also responsible in managing inventories, collaborating with the purchasing department, placing orders, and liaising with suppliers.
Responsibilities
Material Resource Planning (MRP)
- Prepares and develops Materials Requirement Plan based on production plan requirements and forecasted demand (weekly, monthly, yearly).
- Reviews requirements movement and materials completion to prevent delays in production flow.
- Plots materials delivery based on agreed requirements per department.
Inventory Control
- Ensures accurate inventory in raw material and internal non-food warehouses.
- Manages inventory flow and ensures materials are delivered on time and in full.
- Creates a schedule for ordering materials to maintain efficient inventory levels.
Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Prepares weekly and monthly reports based on On-Time and In-Full (OTIF) performance.
- Reviews supplier reliability and reports findings to immediate superior when necessary.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicates order status to internal customers, highlighting product and production constraints.
- Coordinates with involved departments regarding supply deviations for immediate resolution.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent ; engineering fields are specifically preferred for equivalent qualifications beyond Industrial Engineering and Supply Chain.
- Minimum 1 year in food manufacturing or FMCG, preferably in Production Planning and Inventory Control.
- Advanced Excel, Data Analytics, Warehouse Management.
- Familiar with SAP, MRP, ERP systems.
- Basic knowledge level is required for SAP, MRP, and ERP systems proficiency.
- Strong understanding of procurement and production systems.
- Experience in web-based and Excel-based planning tools.
