Job summary

BDO Unibank is seeking a Marketing Officer for Retail Accounts (Marketing Support Unit) to help achieve the unit's AUM and revenue targets. The role involves branch-facing activity, account onboarding, investment order handling, and marketing of trust products through distribution channels.

The candidate will liaise with branches, participate in bank marketing activities, and ensure timely updates on product features and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Banking or Finance with at least 2 years experience.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• UCP accreditation and TIFP course would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison to the branches and supports account onboarding and investment orders.
• Contributes to achieving unit AUM and revenue targets through marketing activities.
• Maintains updates on product features, procedures, and regulatory requirements; informs branches accordingly.
• Prepares and reviews marketing/sales reports and ensures client documentation is complete for accounts and term issuances.
• Ensures compliance with audit findings and internal/regulatory policies; monitors KRIs and conducts due diligence as needed.
• Supports automation and process improvements and handles inquiries from branches and clients as needed.

Job Description

The Marketing Officer for Retail Accounts (Marketing Support Unit) is responsible for achievement of given target and be able to contribute to the attainment of the unit’s AUM and revenue targets. He/She attends to branch referred transactions, including account onboarding, account oversight and investment order taking which are serviced through the branches. He/She markets trust products to distribution channels in accordance with Trust Rules and Regulations and answers inquiries from the branches/ clients.

Responsibilities

Marketing Tasks

• Acts as liaison to the branches
• Ensures accomplishment of unit’s AUM and income generation targets through participation in the Bank’s marketing activities
• Strengthens sales activities through regular branch visits and presentation to area/ region meetings
• Responsible for the achievement of given target and contributes to the unit’s objectives and targets
• Keeps informed of new product features and procedures, industry and current events
• Provides branches with timely updates and informs them of important developments as the need arise

Administrative Functions

• Receives client bookings through the branches and matches these with the available investment outlets for the day as well as orders for Long- Term New Issuances and securities from the secondary market
• Oversees completeness of required documents submitted by branches for the account termination
• Prepares and prints needed marketing/ sales reports
• Checks PERA account and initial contribution orders processed within the day

Audit and Compliance

• Ensures compliance to all audit findings and coordinates with concerned units for immediate resolution
• Monitors Key Result Indicator (KRI) breaches and limits
• Performs annual Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk clients and as needed, conduct EDD on client / account triggers by SAS alert or AMLA related issues
• Conducts account review to ensure management of retail accounts are in accordance with the agreement and in compliance with internal and regulatory policies and procedures

Other Functions

• Streamline processes and recommend automation of manual activities and system enhancements
• Performs other related functions and special projects that may be assigned from time to time
• Answers inquiries and attends to concerns and special requests from the branches, clients and other distribution from time to time
• Handles and resolves cases escalated from BDO call center and branches as well as ensuring high level of customer satisfaction without compromising the Bank’s policies and profitability

Minimum Qualification Requirements

• • Bachelors degree graduate with at least 2 years experience in Marketing, Banking or Finance, preferably gained from a bank, Trust or other financial institution
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • UCP accreditation and one-year TIFP course would be an advantage
