Job summary

TSMG is seeking a Mapping City/Country Expert to ensure accurate and up-to-date transit data across cities and countries. You will review user-reported issues, validate data, and maintain transit datasets, leveraging local market knowledge and regulatory awareness.

Your role includes field verification, collaborating with internal teams and data providers, and developing country-specific guidelines to support mapping operations in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Good communication skills in English and local language.
• Tech-savvy with basic programming knowledge (Python, Java, C#, or C++).
• Familiarity with GIS or mapping tools.
• Strong knowledge of local transit systems, traffic laws, and landmarks.
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with internal teams and external partners to support project goals.
• Create city-level transit data policies based on local market needs and regulations.
• Identify user expectations, data gaps, and transit-related issues.
• Improve transit data models using local knowledge of transportation systems.
• Validate and review updated transit data.
• Edit and maintain different types of transit data.
• Resolve complex mapping and transit data issues.
• Support Program Managers in communication with data providers and partners.
• Conduct field research to verify transit information and user issues.
• Support outage and alert management for assigned cities.
• Manage city-specific data pipelines using internal platforms and basic programming skills.
• Create country-specific guideline documents for operations teams.
• Provide local expertise for mapping policies and regional regulations.
• Support mapping operations with knowledge of traffic laws, landmarks, and political mapping formats.
• Review and troubleshoot mapping and operational issues.
• Act as a point of contact for country-specific mapping questions.
• Perform quality audits and identify operational errors.
• Review imported mapping data before system integration.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure correct political and regional formats are applied.
