Job summary

Atlas Motion is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics engineer to own the equipment lifecycle from specification to daily operation, calibration, and continuous improvement. This hands-on role sits on the factory floor and requires strong problem-solving skills to integrate and optimize winding, assembly, curing, and test equipment.

You will lead supplier coordination, commissioning, and handover, while developing tooling, fixtures, and standard work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of hands-on manufacturing, equipment, maintenance, or automation engineering experience, including direct responsibility for commissioning equipment and resolving production breakdowns.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot machinery, read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, and work with sensors, actuators, drives, pneumatics, and PLC/HMI-controlled equipment.
• Practical experience developing preventive maintenance programs, managing critical spares, and using structured root cause analysis to prevent repeat failures.
• Ability to design or improve tooling and fixtures using CAD, analyze production data in Excel or Google Sheets, and write clear technical instructions.
• Strong ownership and prioritization: work independently, communicate risks early, coordinate suppliers, and follow issues through to verified closure. Comfortable working on-site in a growing manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

• Own the equipment lifecycle from specification and installation to reliable daily operation, calibration, maintenance, and improvement.
• Lead supplier coordination, installation, site acceptance testing, commissioning, and production handover with Quality and Production.
• Integrate winding, assembly, dispensing, curing, balancing, and test equipment; manage interfaces, fixtures, and changeovers.
• Support new product introduction, pilot builds, ramp-up, and engineering changes; develop jigs, fixtures, and standard work.
• Use downtime, cycle-time, yield, scrap, and OEE data to remove bottlenecks and validate capacity gains.
• Build preventive maintenance plans, maintenance records, and service schedules; conduct condition-based checks where useful.
• Respond to breakdowns and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, sensor, motor-drive, and basic controls issues; coordinate OEMs for complex repairs.
• Maintain machine manuals, drawings, setup instructions, maintenance procedures, and training operators.
• Partner with Facilities and EHS on utilities, guarding, interlocks, lockout/tagout, and safe servicing; verify readiness before production.
