Job summary

PM Consulting is seeking a Manhattan Tester to validate complex warehouse management solutions with strong testing and production support skills.

You will design effective test scenarios, identify defects early, and collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to ensure quality across the release lifecycle, including automation and integration testing.

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of experience in application testing, application support, or related technical environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with Manhattan WMS application support and/or testing.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and warehouse management processes.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Manhattan Tester with strong application testing and production support experience to validate complex warehouse management solutions and ensure reliable, high-quality releases.
The role combines Manhattan WMS functional testing, test automation, application support, warehouse operations knowledge, and technical troubleshooting.
The successful candidate will work closely with developers, technical leads, and business stakeholders to design effective test scenarios, identify defects early, improve test coverage, and support quality throughout the software development and release lifecycle.
This is a highly technical testing role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to understand complex application integrations and technology environments.

Key Responsibilities

Manhattan WMS Testing

• Execute testing activities for complex programs and projects involving Manhattan WMS applications.
  
• Develop a strong understanding of warehouse operations and apply business-domain knowledge when designing test scenarios.
  
• Review requirements and solution designs to provide feedback on testability, potential risks, and test coverage.
  
• Participate in customer design and requirements discussions and provide testing perspectives that improve solution quality.
  
• Act as a subject matter resource for assigned application or functional areas.
  
• Facilitate thorough and systematic testing to identify potential issues before production release.
  
• Analyze defect patterns and identify gaps in existing test coverage.
  
• Apply knowledge of software development and testing processes to identify defects early and improve build quality.
  

Test Case & Test Script Development

• Design and develop test cases and test scripts ranging from simple to complex scenarios.
  
• Develop test scenarios based on functional requirements, technical specifications, and business processes.
  
• Ensure test coverage addresses functional requirements, integrations, data flows, and expected business outcomes.
  
• Review test scenarios with technical leads and developers to maximize effective coverage.
  
• Maintain and update test documentation in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  

Test Automation

• Develop automated test cases for functional and integration testing.
  
• Execute automated functional tests and analyze test results.
  
• Work with developers and technical leads to establish appropriate automation strategies.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve test automation coverage and efficiency.
  
• Develop automation reports, metrics, and test results for quality reporting.
  
• Maintain test automation assets after release and ensure they remain reusable for future testing cycles.
  
• Investigate automation failures and distinguish application defects from test or environment issues.
  

Application & Technical Support

• Apply application and production support knowledge to diagnose and investigate complex issues.
  
• Collaborate with developers, technical leads, and other technical teams to understand application behavior and dependencies.
  
• Analyze technical issues across application, integration, database, messaging, and cloud environments.
  
• Support release planning, deployment activities, and change management processes.
  
• Participate in post-release validation and support activities when required.
  
• Perform ad hoc technical investigations and testing based on changing business priorities.
  

Integration & Technical Testing

• Test integrations across applications, APIs, databases, messaging platforms, and cloud services.
  
• Work with technologies including MQ, Kafka, APIs, XML, JSON, DB2, Azure databases, and cloud data services.
  
• Validate data flows and integration behavior across distributed application environments.
  
• Support testing of applications involving Java/Spring Boot, JavaScript/React, and related technologies.
  
• Work with technical teams to understand integration architecture and identify potential failure points.
  

Quality Management & Reporting

• Prioritize testing activities based on business impact, project requirements, and release schedules.
  
• Provide accurate quality status, test progress, and automation metrics.
  
• Identify and communicate testing risks, scheduling constraints, and quality issues in a timely manner.
  
• Escalate critical quality concerns appropriately and recommend potential solutions.
  
• Maintain clear and accurate testing documentation.
  
• Ensure documentation and approval processes follow established standards and procedures.
  

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Work closely with technical leads, developers, application support teams, and other stakeholders.
  
• Contribute ideas for improving testing processes, procedures, automation, and overall quality.
  
• Innovate in solving complex testing challenges.
  
• Apply analytical and creative problem-solving approaches to difficult testing scenarios.
  
• Help improve testing efficiency, coverage, and repeatability across releases.
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  
• 3–4+ years of experience in application testing, application support, production support, or a closely related technical environment.
  
• Hands‑on experience with Manhattan WMS application support and/or testing.
  
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and warehouse management processes.
  
• Hands‑on experience creating test cases and test scripts.
  
• Experience with functional and/or automated software testing.
  
• Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills.
  
• Experience supporting release planning, deployment, and change management activities.
