Job Title: Maintenance Manager – Serviced Accommodation (UK Short-Term Rentals / Airbnb)
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive, and highly organised Maintenance Manager to join our growing team. This is an urgent hire, with an immediate start.
In this role, you will oversee and manage all maintenance operations for our client’s UK-based serviced accommodation properties, primarily listed on Airbnb, Booking.com, and other short-term rental platforms. You will work closely with the property management team to ensure every property meets the highest standards of maintenance management, coordination and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & team management
- Supervise and mentor the maintenance team.
- Set clear goals and provide ongoing training and feedback.
- Preventive & corrective maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Resource & vendor coordination
- Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Coordinate with external vendors for specialised repairs and installations.
- Budget & cost control
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets.
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Compliance & safety
- Ensure adherence to building codes, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Communication & collaboration
- Work closely with operations and other teams to minimise disruptions.
- Provide timely updates on maintenance activities.
- Reporting & continuous improvement
- Generate regular reports on maintenance performance and costs.
- Recommend upgrades and process improvements.
- Technology & innovation
- Utilise digital tools for scheduling and reporting.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Experience working with OTA platforms (e.g., booking.com, Airbnb, Agoda, Expedia) is a strong advantage.
- Proven experience in maintenance management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, vendors, and compliance requirements.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with digital tools
- Open to working onsite at our BGC Office with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when required
- Comfortable with the UK time zone.
Experience
- Experience in serviced accommodation, short-term rentals, Airbnb/Booking.com management (required).
- Previous experience managing maintenance teams (required).
- Familiarity with quick turnaround cleaning for short-term lets (highly preferred).
