Job summary

LUMITRON TECHNOLOGIES INC. is seeking a Lighting Designer in Paranaque City, Metro Manila for a full-time role.

You will design comprehensive lighting systems for commercial, residential, and industrial projects, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver optimal lighting solutions. You will conduct site assessments, perform photometric calculations, and create detailed drawings using DIALux/RELUX/AGi32.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, Architecture, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience as a Lighting Designer or similar role in commercial/residential/industrial projects.
• Proficiency with lighting design software (DIALux, RELUX, AGi32).
• Strong knowledge of lighting principles, colour temperature, lumens, lux levels, and photometric calculations.
• Familiarity with LED technology, energy-efficient lighting systems, and smart lighting controls.
• Understanding of electrical codes, building regulations, and lighting standards (IEC or PH standards).
• Excellent technical drawing and CAD skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities to convey design ideas.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed lighting design concepts and specifications tailored to client requirements and project objectives.
• Conduct site assessments and lighting audits to evaluate existing conditions and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Create technical drawings, lighting layouts, and photometric calculations using industry-standard design software.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate lighting solutions into project designs.
• Select appropriate lighting equipment, fixtures, and control systems based on performance, efficiency, and budget constraints.
• Prepare comprehensive lighting design documentation, including specifications, schedules, and installation guidelines.
• Perform lighting simulations and analysis to meet illumination standards and energy efficiency targets.
• Conduct site inspections during installation and commissioning to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
• Liaise with clients to present design concepts, gather feedback, and refine solutions accordingly.
• Stay current with emerging lighting technologies, standards, and best practices in sustainable design.

As a Lighting Designer, you will take a strategic approach to designing comprehensive lighting systems for a variety of projects, from commercial and residential spaces to specialised industrial applications. Your work will directly influence how our clients experience their environments and will contribute significantly to the company's reputation for excellence in the lighting industry.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed lighting design concepts and specifications tailored to meet client requirements and project objectives

What we're looking for

Strong communication and presentation abilities to effectively convey design ideas to clients and stakeholders

Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt designs to meet varying project constraints

Preferred: Experience with 3D visualisation, BIM (Building Information Modelling), or lighting control programming

Preferred: Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED or equivalent green building certifications
