Placements24 is seeking an Especialista en Comunicación y Desarrollo Comunitario for Oaxaca City, Mexico. The role focuses on bridging communication between the organization and diverse communities, and external stakeholders, in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities include creating engaging content, developing communication plans, organizing community events, and documenting impact stories to support reporting and advocacy efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, or development communication.
• Proven experience in facilitating community dialogues and engagement.
• Strong understanding of sustainable development and community-based approaches.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish with cultural nuance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication plans to support community development projects and initiatives.
• Facilitate communication and build relationships with community members, local leaders, and partner organizations.
• Create content for newsletters, reports, social media, and local media.
• Organize and support community meetings, workshops, and public awareness events.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies for community engagement goals.
• Assist in managing media relations and generating positive press coverage.
• Document community stories and project impacts for reporting and advocacy.
• Provide communication support to program staff working with communities.
