Under the direct supervision of the Deputy University Librarian for Administration, the Librarian of the Internal Relations facilitates communication between library administration and staff, aiming to establish clear and cohesive goals for the library. The librarian supports the library personnel by providing information, offering suggestions, and giving guidance on human resources, staff development and other related matters. She/he is responsible for providing guidance and assistance to the School Teams and Color Teams of the Rizal Library (RL).
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and closely monitor staff development training initiatives for the professional growth and skill enhancement of library staff members.
- Monitor and promptly attend to queries and requests on library structure/organization and other related internal matters from library personnel, through various communication channels such as email and group chat.
- Provide guidance and assistance to the RL’s Color Teams in conceptualizing projects, events and activities.
- Engage with the School Teams to ensure that internal relations efforts with the Schools in Higher Education align with strategic goals and plans of the library.
- Collaborate closely with the Office of Human Resources and Management Organizational Development to provide assistance in updating internal recruitment policies and refining the hiring process for the library, ensuring a streamlined and efficient recruitment process.
- Provide valuable assistance to the RL’s Hiring Committee throughout the hiring process ensuring the library’s needs are met with efficiency.
- Create and implement effective onboarding plans specifically designed for new library recruits, ensuring their smooth integration into the library environment.
- Provide assistance to the Deputy University Librarian for Administration on matters such as discipline cases and union matters specific to the library.
- Conduct library orientation and guided tours of Rizal Library.
Section Management
- Assists in the preparation of reports, required by the University Librarian and Deputy University Librarian for Administration
- Prepares data for Section annual budget requests
- Provides reports required by the University Librarian and Deputy University Librarian for Administration
- Records, collates, and maintains RL’s human resources related data
- Facilitates the updating of hiring, work rotation and staff development guidelines and procedures. Assists in developing, designing, coordinating, and monitoring staff development programs and initiatives geared towards the promotion and up‑skill of Rizal Library’s professionals and staff.
Extent of Public Contact
S/he will be dealing with students, faculty, administrators, staff and various offices.
Physical Demands
Work is primarily sedentary in nature, no physical demands required.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science (BLS), Library and Information Science (BLIS), Library Science major, or any four‑year course, or a Master’s degree in Library Science.
