Job summary

Newell Brands is seeking an experienced industrial automation specialist to lead digitalization efforts across plant operations. You will design and implement real‑time data solutions that boost productivity, reliability, and decision making.

You will work with SCADA/HMI platforms, PLCs, data platforms, and analytics tools to develop KPI dashboards and improve OEE, downtime, energy use, and quality metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or computer science field.
• 3–5 years of automation and digitalization experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with SCADA/HMI implementations and data integration.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, VBA, and JavaScript.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial digitalization initiatives to optimize productivity and reliability.
• Develop and deploy real-time data solutions and dashboards.
• Integrate PLCs, SCADA, databases, and industrial networks.
• Manage end-to-end digitalization projects including training.

What You’ll Do

You will be responsible for leading industrial digitalization initiatives, developing and implementing solutions that optimize productivity, reliability, and decision‑making through real‑time data.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Develop and implement SCADA/HMI solutions, dashboards, and industrial visualization systems.
• Integrate PLCs, SCADA systems, databases, industrial networks, and digital platforms.
• Manage end‑to‑end digitalization projects, including requirements gathering, design, testing, commissioning, and training.
• Develop KPIs and visualizations for OEE, downtime, scrap, energy consumption, and other critical operational metrics.
• Participate in capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives as a technical consultant.
• Provide technical support to Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Define digital architectures, industrial connectivity strategies, and data integration frameworks.
• Promote best practices in visualization, cybersecurity, data historization, and industrial system administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in automation, industrial digitalization, SCADA/HMI implementation, or manufacturing systems integration.
• Hands‑on experience with platforms such as Ignition, FactoryTalk, Wonderware/System Platform, Power BI, or equivalent solutions.
• Knowledge of PLCs, OPC/OPC UA, SQL, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, historians, and industrial networking.
• Experience with programming and data analytics tools such as SQL, Python, VBA, or JavaScript.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a results‑oriented mindset and a passion for data‑driven continuous improvement.
