Job summary

NCS Group is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize robust data infrastructure and pipelines for analytics across the APAC region. You will lead a team of data engineers, collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders, and implement best practices in data transformation, validation, governance, and cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications

• 7–8+ years of data engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks/Snowflake) and cloud services (Azure or AWS).
• Willing to work in hybrid setup in BGC Taguig.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Define and enforce data engineering standards, coding practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Design and maintain high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines and workflows.
• Build and optimize data lake, data warehouse, and streaming data solutions.
• Ensure data supports structured, semi-structured, and unstructured sources.
• Develop data transformation processes delivering clean, analytics-ready datasets.
• Implement validation, anomaly detection, and automated quality checks.
• Define and execute data remediation strategies with minimal business disruption.
• Manage cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Apply modern frameworks (Spark, Kafka, Airflow, DBT) for data processing.
• Oversee data modeling, schema design, and database optimization.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability across platforms.
• Implement governance, lineage, validation, and security frameworks.
• Monitor pipelines to meet SLAs and performance targets.

• Implement and manage cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and availability of data across platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Total Data Engineering experience - 7- 8yrs and above
• Skilled in Python (at least 4/5 rating), SQL (at least 3/5 rating)
• Working or has experience working on modern data cloud platforms (Databricks/Snowflake)
• With exposure to cloud services (preferably Azure or AWS)
• Willing to work on a hybrid work set up in BGC Taguig
