Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting in Ortigas, Pasig is seeking an AI Engineering Manager - IC to build production AI agents and enhance platform capabilities. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in Software Development/AI Engineering or related roles.
• Proven AI-driven project experience, preferably with AI agents/LLMs.
• Strong API, backend, data integration, testing and cloud-hosted apps experience.
• Hands-on production AI agents/LLMs experience is highly preferred.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers or driving software/AI initiatives is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft/Azure stack and modern development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agents handling multiple inputs, contexts, and multi-turn interactions.
• Develop agent solutions using instructions, context management, structured outputs, retrieval, grounding, and tool execution.
• Integrate AI agents with APIs, enterprise data, identity systems, and external apps.
• Design and maintain evaluation frameworks to measure agent quality, accuracy, and performance.
• Incorporate AI security, privacy, access control, and responsible AI practices.
• Analyze and improve agent behavior from logs, traces, and metrics.
• Develop and maintain APIs, backend services, data integrations, and distributed workflows.
• Contribute to platform enhancements: authentication, authorization, persistence, observability.
• Establish automated testing practices across unit/integration/contract/e2e.
• Contribute to CI/CD, code reviews, production support, and cost optimization.

About the Job:

We are looking for an AI Engineering Manager - IC to join our client's team and build production AI agents while enhancing the platform capabilities that support them. This is primarily an individual contributor role, combining hands‑on AI agent engineering with backend and platform development across the full solution lifecycle, from understanding customer needs through implementation, evaluation, release, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with customers, Business Analysts, QA engineers, and software engineers to translate business workflows into reliable agent behavior and scalable product features.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop AI agents that can handle different inputs, contexts, and multi-turn interactions.
• Develop agent solutions using instructions, context management, structured outputs, retrieval, grounding, and tool execution.
• Integrate AI agents with APIs, enterprise data, identity systems, and external applications.
• Design and maintain evaluation frameworks to measure agent quality, accuracy, and performance.
• Incorporate AI security, privacy, access control, and responsible AI practices into solutions.
• Analyze and improve agent behavior using conversation history, logs, traces, metrics, and evaluation results.
• Develop and maintain APIs, backend services, data integrations, and distributed workflows.
• Contribute to platform enhancements, including authentication, authorization, persistence, observability, and operator-facing features.
• Establish and maintain automated testing practices across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing.
• Contribute to CI/CD, code reviews, production support, issue resolution, performance improvements, and cost optimization.
• Work with customers and Business Analysts to translate business requirements, rules, risks, and edge cases into AI use cases and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with software and AI engineers to share knowledge and promote engineering best practices.
• Take ownership of solutions from discovery and development through production and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Software Development, Software Engineering, AI Engineering, or related technical roles.
• Proven experience working on AI-driven projects, preferably involving AI agents or LLM applications.
• Strong experience with modern software development, including APIs, backend services, data integration, testing, and cloud-hosted applications.
• Hands-on experience with AI agents or LLM applications in a production environment is strongly preferred.
• Experience with technical leadership, mentoring engineers, or driving software/AI engineering initiatives is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with several of the following technologies: Microsoft Agent Framework, Microsoft Foundry, Python, C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, TypeScript, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Azure Cosmos DB, Docker, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, GitHub Actions, Application Insights, and OpenTelemetry.
• Knowledge of AI security, privacy, access control, prompt injection risks, and responsible AI practices.
• Experience with modern programming languages, frameworks, and development tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
