SGS (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in the Philippines is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to perform sampling, testing and analyses in accordance with the QMS and Safety policies. You will prepare reagents, standardize solutions and operate laboratory equipment, while ensuring accurate data recording and adherence to quality metrics.

The role includes coaching junior staff, maintaining safe laboratory conditions, and ensuring compliance with group policies and environmental health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in BS Microbiology or BS Biology with Microbiology specialization.
• Preferred registration as Microbiologist if possible.

Responsabilités

• Performs sampling, testing and analyses per the Matrix of Laboratory Tests and Analyses and per QMS/Safety policies.
• Prepares reagents and standard solutions and standardizes volumetric solutions.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment used for analyses.
• Analyzes and interprets test results with quality control charts and uncertainty measurements.
• Keeps accurate documentation, worksheets and logs, and signs instructions.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

In-chargefor performing analyses as defined in the Matrix of Laboratory test and Analyses and reporting test results according to the Quality Management System policies and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities

• Performs sampling, testing and analyses as defined in the Matrix of Laboratory Tests, and Analyses and in accordance with the QMS and Safety Polices defined in the Safety Manual.

• Performs preparation of reagents and test solutions and standardization of volumetric solutions in accordance with the standard test methods.

• Participates in various proficiency / correlation programs.

• Operates and maintains equipment used in performing analyses.

• Reads, understands, and follows proper standard operating procedures

• Analyzes and interprets standard laboratory test results including statistical quality control charts and uncertainty of measurements

• Prepares and updates reports related to the analyses performed including statistical quality control chartsand uncertainty of measurements for routine tests.

• Signs worksheet and job instructions.

• Maintains routine documentation, including worksheets, log sheet entries, sample documentations, etc. Records data precisely and accurately.

• Coaches lab analysts I, lab technicians, lab aides and OJTs on the performance of test, analyses, and sample preparation.

• Maintains workplace in a safe and orderly condition.

• Prepares purchase request for laboratory supplies

• Ensures compliance to the Group and national policies including but not limited to the maintenance of the Quality Management System

• Disposes or directs the disposal of waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe mannerandin compliance withthedisposal regulations and requirements,and in accordance with SGS EnvironmentalManagement System requirements

• Reports all incidents, includingnear missesand hazards,that may affecttheachievement of QHSEE objectivesin accordance with SGS Incident Reportingand Managementrequirements

• Efficiently usesall equipment, including safety equipment,and company owned propertyin the manner intended and reports any damaged / lost equipment to immediate superior

• Maintains a safe and tidy worksiteaccordingtothe organization's 5S program and guidelines

• Maintains awareness ofthesafety and health relatedhazardsand environmental aspectsand proposesaction planstocontrol the risks to immediate superiororQHSEE Coordinators

• Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management

• Fulfills the requirements needed in the success of the QHSEE Management System

• Recognizes the potential consequences of not followingthe established policies,procedures, and guidelines,including not fulfilling the organization's compliance obligations

Qualifications

Profile

• Education: Must have at least a University or College degree on BS Microbiology, BS Biology major in Microbiology and other related sciences.

• Preferably Registered Microbiologist
