Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Junior–Mid Level Data Engineer to join our team in a hybrid setup at BGC, Taguig. You will develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines in a cloud environment, focusing on ETL/ELT processes and data quality.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS, Python, and SQL, and a strong interest in building and improving data pipelines, processing data, and supporting data-driven applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering/Data Science or related field.
• 1–4 years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and its data-related services.
• Strong Python programming and SQL skills.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Work with AWS cloud services to store, process, and manage data.
• Develop Python scripts for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior–Mid Level Data Engineer to join our team and support the development, maintenance, and optimization of data solutions in a cloud environment.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS, Python, and SQL, with a strong interest in building and improving data pipelines, processing data, and supporting data-driven applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

• Work with AWS cloud services to store, process, and manage data.

• Develop Python scripts for data processing, automation, and pipeline development.

• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

• Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality checks.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, or EMR.

• Experience with Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar databases.

• Exposure to data warehousing or data lakes.

• Experience with Git/version control.

• Knowledge of data modeling and cloud-based data architectures.
