Orange and Bronze Software Labs Ltd, Co. is seeking an Associate Java Engineer to join our Makati-based development team in a hybrid role. You will build and maintain scalable backend systems using Java, Spring, and modern data stores, collaborating with peers to deliver robust software.

This junior-to-entry role emphasizes learning, code reviews, and documentation, with mentorship and opportunities to work across cloud and containerized environments as part of a growing IT services firm.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Java programming.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and object-oriented programming principles.
• Basic knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend components using Java and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Data, etc.).
• Write efficient SQL queries and manage data using PostgreSQL or other relational databases such as MySQL or SQL Server.
• Collaborate with senior developers, QA engineers, and product teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and debugging.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of backend services.
• Write clear and maintainable documentation for developed code and systems.
