Job Summary:
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares and records journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
- Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts.
- Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Handles accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Performs bank and account reconciliations.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepares and reviews tax-related reports and statutory filings.
- Coordinates with external auditors and supports audit activities.
- Analyzes financial data and provides recommendations to management.
- Assists in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
- Performs other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with financial reporting and audit support
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and statutory compliance
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
