Key Media in the Philippines is seeking a Journalist to turn industry interviews into authoritative mortgage sector stories. This full-time mid-shift role (4 PM to 1 AM PH time) offers global exposure and the chance to work with executives, brokers, lenders, and regulators across borders.

You will source and conduct interviews, craft reader-focused narratives, and meet deadlines while thriving in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of interview-driven reporting at a senior level.
• Strong writing ability and the capacity to translate interviews into engaging narratives.
• Ability to work independently across different time zones.
• Comfortable engaging with C-suite executives, policymakers, and industry experts.

What you'll do:

• Source, pitch, and pursue interview-led stories that go beyond the press release — finding the angles that matter to mortgage industry professionals.
• Build and maintain a network of high-level sources: executives, brokers, lenders, and regulators you can call on when news breaks.
• Conduct sharp, well-prepared interviews with senior business leaders and translate those conversations into authoritative, reader-first journalism
• Monitor breaking B2B news across the mortgage sector and move quickly to get the right voices on record.
• Collaborate with journalists around the world to develop and refine story angles.
• Write in the voice and style of our niche publications, with a command of the language and terminology your readers use every day.
• Meet deadlines without compromising on accuracy or depth.

Who you are:

• A practised interviewer — someone who knows how to open up a source, push back respectfully, and surface insights that others miss
• Experienced in business journalism, with a track record of interview-driven reporting at a senior level
• Comfortable holding your own in conversations with C-suite executives, policymakers, and industry specialists
• A strong writer who can shape a conversation into a clean, compelling narrative for a sophisticated B2B audience
• Deeply curious about financial services and mortgage markets — or hungry to become an authority in them
• Equipped with excellent English, a strong news sense, and the discipline to work independently across time zones
