Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a JavaScript Software Engineer to build rich, responsive web and hybrid-mobile applications. You will leverage JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Next.js to deliver fast, SEO-friendly interfaces that are mobile-first.

Responsibilities include designing high-performance UI with SSR/SSG, implementing pixel-perfect layouts, and collaborating with backend engineers, UX designers, and product owners to translate designs into modular front-end code.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of modern web development experience building user-facing features.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Experience with Next.js including App Router or Pages Router and Server Components.
• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, styled-components, and CSS Modules.
• Experience with client-side state management such as Redux, Zustand, and Context API.
• Experience optimizing web apps for mobile browsers and PWAs.
• Git proficiency and experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Implement mobile-first, responsive designs across devices and browsers.
• Manage complex client-side state and integrate with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Profile and optimize applications for Core Web Vitals and fast loading on mobile devices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable JavaScript/TypeScript code.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to a shared UI component library.
• Translate designs into modular, reusable front-end code.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance, responsive web applications using React and Next.js, utilizing features like SSR, SSG, and API routes


• Implement pixel-perfect, mobile-first designs that adapt seamlessly across devices, with a specific focus on optimizing layouts, animations, and touch interactions for mobile viewports, including iOS/Android browsers


• Manage complex client-side state and integrate applications with backend RESTful or GraphQL APIs


• Profile and optimize applications for maximum loading speed, Core Web Vitals, and smooth rendering on lower-powered mobile devices


• Write clean, maintainable, and testable JavaScript/TypeScript code


• Conduct thorough code reviews and contribute to the shared UI component library


• Translate interactive designs into clean, modular, and reusable front-end code


• Collaborate closely with backend engineers, UX designers, and product owners

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in modern web development with a strong focus on building user-facing features


• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and React


• Proficiency in the Next.js framework, including App Router or Pages Router and Server Components


• Familiarity with modern CSS frameworks or methodologies such as Tailwind CSS, styled-components, and CSS Modules


• Familiarity with client-side state management tools such as Redux, Zustand, and Context API


• Experience in optimizing web apps for mobile browsers, PWAs, or integrating web views within hybrid mobile containers


• Experience with Git and working in an Agile/Scrum development cycle
