Job summary

QBE Group Shared Services Centre in Metro Manila is seeking a Solution Architect/Technical Lead to translate business requirements into robust infrastructure designs and deliver architecture that aligns with enterprise standards.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, guide solution design across projects, assess risks, and ensure governance, using cloud and on‑prem technologies to enable the organization’s strategic IT roadmap.

Qualifications

• A tertiary degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Must have experience as a technical lead or solution architect.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure solutions are aligned with business strategy, IT standards, and constraints.
• Support creation of solution designs for projects, including dependency analysis.
• Communicate project scope and designs to the business and support business case development.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market developments to leverage emerging technologies.
• Understand the IT landscape to deliver IT solutions that meet business needs.
• Review peer designs, costs, benefits, and technical designs; design solutions efficiently.
• Conduct technology assurance and governance aligned with architecture policy.
• Define approach for structuring each application using appropriate technology solutions.
• Promote adherence to IT Strategy, Architecture Principles, and Roadmaps.
• Identify and assess risks; lead risk dialogue as SME and mitigate delivery risks.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to assist in developing technical solution designs that outline project implementation and to convert business requirements into system requirements that align with enterprise architecture perspectives.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure solutions are aligned with business strategy, IT standards, and constraints.
• Support the creation of solution designs for projects, including dependency analysis.
• Work with the business to ensure project scope and designs are accurately communicated, and support the development of business cases for new projects.
• Maintain an up to date knowledge of market developments to identify and deliver opportunities to leverage existing or emerging technologies and business models which enhance business performance
• Understand the IT landscape where solutions reside to deliver effective IT solutions that support the business context and meet the broad business needs of QBE
• Review peer solution designs, costs, benefits, and technical designs, and design technical solutions efficiently following processes and procedures.
• Conduct technology assurance and governance aligned with architecture policy.
• Define the approach for structuring each application using appropriate technology solutions.
• Promote adherence to IT Strategy, Architecture Principles, and Roadmaps.
• Identify and assess risks within your subject matter area, lead risk-related dialogue as the SME for that domain, and support stakeholders in making informed, risk-based decisions. Mitigate risks in delivery while keeping to agreed plan and timeframes.

• Previous experience as a technical lead or solution architect.
• Experience in translating business requirements into infrastructure solutions across various technologies.
• Good understanding of project delivery methodologies.
• Experience of building solutions from defined architecture standards and patterns.
• Experience of public cloud platforms and services.
• Some experience in related business and systems.
• Experience as an application developer or business systems analyst in relevant technology.
