The Opportunity (Independent Contractor/Part-time)

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated iOS Mobile Developer specializing in Swift to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality native iOS applications.

The ideal candidate has strong hands‑on experience building production‑ready iOS applications and understands the full mobile development lifecycle—from translating product requirements and designs into functional applications through testing, App Store deployment, monitoring, and ongoing optimization.

This role will collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and engineering stakeholders to build intuitive, reliable, secure, and scalable mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain native iOS applications using Swift.
• Build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using SwiftUI and/or UIKit.
• Translate product requirements, wireframes, and UI/UX designs into high‑quality mobile experiences.
• Develop reusable components and maintain clean, scalable, and well‑documented code.
• Optimize application for performance, responsiveness, reliability, and scalability.
• Integrate iOS applications with RESTful APIs, backend services, databases, and third‑party platforms.
• Implement authentication, user account management, push notifications, analytics, and other application services.
• Manage data synchronization and local storage while maintaining application performance.
• Collaborate with backend developers to troubleshoot integrations and improve application functionality.

Testing, Deployment & Maintenance

• Write and maintain unit and UI tests to ensure application quality and stability.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve bugs, crashes, performance issues, and production defects.
• Manage application builds, certificates, provisioning profiles, and release processes.
• Support TestFlight testing and production deployments through Apple App Store Connect.
• Monitor production applications and continuously improve performance and reliability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, Backend Developers, QA, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, technical planning, sprint meetings, and architecture discussions.
• Communicate development progress, technical challenges, risks, and dependencies clearly.
• Provide recommendations regarding technical feasibility, application architecture, and iOS best practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional iOS mobile application development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Swift and the native iOS development ecosystem.
• Hands‑on experience with SwiftUI and/or UIKit.
• Strong understanding of iOS application architecture and design patterns such as MVVM, MVC, or Clean Architecture.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and third‑party services.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, networking, data persistence, and application state management.
• Proficiency with Xcode, Git, and source‑control workflows.
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications through the Apple App Store.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Understanding of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and iOS development best practices.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a remote development team.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Swift Concurrency (async/await) and Combine.
• Experience with Core Data, SwiftData, or other local persistence technologies.
• Experience implementing push notifications and deep linking.
• Experience with Firebase or similar mobile development platforms.
• Experience with payment processing, subscriptions, or in‑app purchases.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for iOS applications.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as XCTest and XCUITest.
• Understanding of mobile application security and secure storage practices.
• Experience integrating analytics, crash reporting, and application monitoring tools.
• Experience working in Agile or startup development environments.
• Experience using AI‑assisted development tools such Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or ChatGPT.
• Work Setup: Remote or WFH - No fixed shift yet (Overlap with EST)
