Ideal candidates hold a relevant Bachelor's degree and professional qualifications (CIA/CPA or progress toward), with 3–5 years in audit.
The Medical City is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join our organisation on a full-time basis in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. This is a pivotal position within our finance and compliance framework, responsible for providing independent and objective assurance and advisory services to enhance operational effectiveness and risk management across the organisation. The Internal Auditor will play a crucial role in safeguarding organisational assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting management in achieving strategic objectives through systematic evaluation of internal controls and business processes.
Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive internal audit plan aligned with organisational objectives and risk assessment findings
Conduct independent audits across various departments and operational areas to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, processes and procedures
Assess compliance with relevant regulations, policies, standards and best practices within the healthcare and financial sectors
Identify and document audit findings, deficiencies and areas for improvement, providing detailed reports to senior management and the audit committee
Formulate practical and actionable recommendations to address identified risks and control weaknesses
Follow up on management's implementation of audit recommendations and monitor remediation efforts
Evaluate financial and operational transactions to ensure accuracy, authorisation and proper documentation
Investigate suspected irregularities, fraud indicators and anomalies, reporting findings to appropriate stakeholders
Maintain detailed audit working papers and documentation in accordance with professional standards
Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required
Stay current with developments in audit methodology, healthcare regulations and internal control frameworks
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline
Professional audit qualification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification; or substantial progress towards achieving such credentials
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in internal audit, external audit or a related assurance role
Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment methodologies and audit procedures
Solid understanding of healthcare industry regulations, compliance requirements and operational standards
Proficiency with audit software and tools, and advanced competency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with capability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences
Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Integrity, discretion and professional judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information
Preferred experience in healthcare audit, hospital operations or financial services sectors
