Job description

The Opportunity:

The Human Resource Generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: HRIS operations, employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action and employment equity program, benefits management, employee law compliance and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

This position is remote and offers you the flexibility of working from home.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations of HRIS system including new hire set up, benefits enrollment, leave administration ad-hoc reporting, etc.
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes, change reporting, approving invoices for payment. Assists in annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and distributes list of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan. Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
  • Maintains employee personnel files
  • Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files; follows-up on open cases
  • Works with HR Leadership to Coach, counsel and guide managers before executing employee disciplinary actions
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Conducts recruitment effort for non- clinical staff, post job advertisements; works with hiring manager to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; Conducts exit interviews
  • Administers leave
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
To Succeed in this role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • 3 + years of HR generalist experience preferred
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and HRIS implementation and other human resource programs
  • ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
  • Wage & Hour experience
Service Fee:

Industry standards applicable to the state depend on work experience and level of expertise.

Hours:

US Eastern Standard Time (EST) - Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm
