Assisting experienced tire technicians in a tire shop by performing tasks like removing and installing tires, mounting and balancing wheels, maintaining inventory, cleaning the shop area, and generally supporting the team with basic tire-related duties, requiring minimal prior experience but a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Key responsibilities may include:
High school diploma or GED.
Proven work experience as a tire technician.
Extensive knowledge of tire patterns and material composition.
Ability to lift heavy objects.
Ability to work in a crouched or standing position for extended periods.
Required skills and qualifications:
Physical ability to lift heavy tires and bend frequently.
Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of tire construction.
Attention to detail to ensure proper tire installation and balancing.
Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions.
Good communication skills to interact with customers and technicians.
Training provided: Most tire shops will provide on-the-job training to teach new helpers the necessary skills.
