Overview

A Helper in a Vegetable Store is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of the store by assisting with a variety of tasks related to stocking, organizing, and maintaining the store’s produce section.

Responsibilities

• Stocking and Organizing Produce
  • Receive and inspect incoming deliveries of vegetables.
  • Stock shelves, display cases, and refrigerators with fresh produce.
  • Rotate stock to ensure older products are used first (FIFO—First In, First Out).
  • Ensure that all vegetables are clean, visually appealing, and well-organized.
• Customer Assistance
  • Greet customers and assist them in selecting the vegetables they need.
  • Provide information about the different types of vegetables, their uses, and how to store them.
  • Help with weighing, bagging, and packaging produce as required.
  • Clean and sanitize produce shelves, display areas, and storage rooms.
  • Sweep and mop the floors regularly to maintain a tidy and hygienic environment.
  • Ensure that the produce area is always well-lit and attractive to customers.
• Inventory and Stock Control
  • Monitor the levels of vegetables in stock and inform the manager when stocks are low.
  • Assist with inventory checks and help track product expiration dates to ensure freshness.
  • Remove any damaged or spoiled produce from the shelves promptly.
