Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years in law enforcement, marine conservation, marine construction, marine transportation, marine maintenance, commercial fishing, or as a merchant mariner or US Navy Seaman.
• Thorough knowledge of harbor operations and waterfront infrastructure.
• Ability to communicate with vessel operators, responders, and officials.
• Proficiency with radio communications and marine equipment.
• Passport valid for travel and ability to obtain visas.
• English literacy and comprehension.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safe vessel movements entering and departing the harbor.
• Assign docking berths and mooring spaces for various vessels.
• Monitor harbor traffic and maintain navigable channels.
• Operate marine communications systems and maintain liaison with vessel operators.
• Record vessel arrivals, departures, and movements; prepare reports.
• Ensure compliance with marine regulations and harbor procedures.
• Assist emergency responses related to marine operations.
• Maintain harbor logbooks and equipment readiness.
