As an apprentice, you will participate in cross-border coordination, vendor and revenue processes, system upgrades, UAT testing, and ad-hoc analytics, gaining practical experience in institutional finance

Qualifications

  • Education: Recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / CA-Intermediate).
  • Technical: Strong foundation in core accounting rules; basic MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Mindset: Agile, analytical, deadline-driven, collaborative.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written English for global collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple finance streams supporting day-to-day global accounting operations.
  • Assist with vendor payments, client billing, revenue recognition, and month-end close.
  • Coordinate cross-border and cross-functional activities with international stakeholders.
  • Support finance transformation projects and process improvements.
  • Participate in system upgrades and basic UAT and data validation.
  • Assist with audit documentation and compliance activities.

Graduate Trainee/Apprenticeship - Finance & Accounting

Apprenticeship is a 12-month program that will provide a comprehensive learning experience, blending theoretical knowledge with on-the-job training. Over the 12-month period, apprentices at Russell Investments will gain valuable exposure to industry while developing essential soft skills and acclimating to a professional corporate environment.

Eligibility
  • Should not be self-employed
  • Should not be enrolled under other government-funded programs
  • Should not be practicing professionally at the time of application
  • Should not be registered on EPF/ ESIC Portal
  • Should not have completed their education from a foreign university

Apprentices who enroll should have their Aadhaar seeded with their personal mobile number and personal email address. This is a mandate

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance & Accounting Apprentice. In this versatile role, you will work across a broad spectrum of corporate finance activities. Under the guidance of the Director of Finance, you will learn and assist with a mix of day-to-day global accounting operations and strategic, one-time development projects.

Core Responsibilities & Learning Areas

The apprentice will work across multiple finance streams, performing a mix of the following supportive activities:

  • Financial Operations Support: Gain hands-on exposure across the corporate accounting lifecycle. You will learn and assist with processes around vendor payments, client billing, revenue recognition, expense accruals, general ledger reconciliations, global consolidation, and the month-end closing process.
  • Cross-Border and Cross-Functional Coordination: Interact with connected functions and international stakeholders under guidance, to improvise information flow, gain business context, and /or ensure accurate operational responses.
  • Process Automation Assistance: Support finance transformation projects by helping to identify manual bottlenecks in financial workflows, ideations, documentation and assisting with basic project tracking.
  • System Upgrades & UAT: Assist in system upgrades efforts by participating in structured User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and basic data validation.
  • Ad-Hoc Analytics & Tasks: Provide data-driven analytical support under supervision, helping to gather information and coordinate tasks across different finance streams.
  • Audit & Compliance Documentation: Assist in compiling required files, organizing documentation, and supporting team members during internal and external global audit reviews.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Recent graduate with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / CA-Intermediate).
  • Technical: Strong foundation in core accounting rules and principles with an eagerness to learn how they apply to real-world scenarios; foundational knowledge of MS Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Mindset: Agile, analytical, and comfortable learning both routine tasks and special projects. Must possess a disciplined approach to deadlines and team commitments, balanced with a fun-loving, collaborative attitude
  • Communication: Good verbal and written English skills, essential for learning how to collaborate with global onshore stakeholders.
