Job summary

Lattice Semiconductor is seeking a Global Purchasing Manager to lead procurement and design sourcing strategies across the global supply base. You will negotiate contracts, optimize spend, and drive cost-saving opportunities while mentoring a buying team.

Responsibilities include strategic sourcing, vendor management, budget oversight, demand forecasting, and process automation with ERP and analytics tools. A CPSM/CPM is preferred and a Bachelor’s in a related field is required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team-lead capacity.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CPSM or CPM.

Job Description:

Job Overview We are seeking a strategic and analytical Global Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement department. In this role, you will design and execute sourcing strategies, discover profitable vendors, and negotiate favorable supply contracts to minimize production costs. The ideal candidate possesses deep market knowledge, sharp negotiation skills, and the ability to lead a dynamic buying team to maintain seamless business operations.

Core Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management
  • Supplier Research: Research, identify, and evaluate potential vendors based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate commercial terms, payment deadlines, and master service agreements to optimize savings.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic suppliers to cultivate long-term partnerships.
  • Risk Mitigation: Assess supply chain vulnerabilities and establish backup sourcing channels to prevent operational downtime.
Financial & Operations Management
  • Budget Oversight: Create and manage the annual purchasing budget while tracking cost-saving metrics.
  • Demand Forecasting: Analyze market trends and coordinate with sales/inventory teams to predict future material demand.
  • PO Approval: Review, authorize, and track purchase orders and procurement documentation.
  • Quality Control: Audit incoming goods against technical specifications and resolve vendor disputes regarding damaged or delayed shipments.
Team Leadership & System Optimization
  • Staff Supervision: Hire, train, mentor, and delegate daily tasks to a team of buyers and procurement agents.
  • Process Automation: Implement and upgrade digital procurement tools, ERP software, and AI-driven spend analysis systems.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all buying procedures comply with local laws, corporate governance, and sustainability goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • Experience: 5–8+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team‑lead capacity.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
Hard & Soft Skills
  • Negotiation: Proven track record of closing highly profitable business contracts.
  • Tech Fluency: Expert mastery of ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced data analytics tools.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly pitch strategies to executives and maintain rapport with external clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Agility to handle sudden price fluctuations or international shipping delays.
