Job summary

Merck Group in the Philippines (Taguig/BGC) is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to support high-quality financial data and timely reporting within a global Shared Service Center. You will help drive accurate ledgers and reports to aid informed business decisions.

You will handle post to the general ledger, payroll and benefits accounting, master data maintenance, balance sheet reconciliation, and preparation of regional subsidiary statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 3–4 years of accounting/finance experience with full-cycle General Ledger Accounting and Inventory Accounting.
• Experience with Payroll & HR Benefit accounting.
• Shared Services Center experience preferred.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Fluent English language skills required.
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and Excel skills required.
• Willing to be based in BGC, Taguig, Metro Manila.

Responsibilities

• Support providing internal customers with high quality, accurate, and timely financial data and reports to enable informed business decisions.
• Post to the general ledger.
• Handle payroll and benefits.
• Maintain master data as applicable.
• Maintain and reconcile multiple balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare financial statements for the regional subsidiaries.
• Perform less complex financial analysis tasks.
• Provide support during audit or pre-audit tasks, compliance activities and other related accounting duties as assigned by management.
