Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience as Geophysics or in a similar role

Responsibilities

• Performs geotechnical and geological site assessment/investigation to evaluate surface and subsurface conditions
• Perform analyses on slope stability and tunnel stress for safe design
• Utilize geophysical techniques (e.g., resistivity, seismic refraction, GPR) to collect data
• Analyzes and interprets geophysical/geotechnical data to determine design parameters
• Completes geotechnical, geologic, and geophysical reports
• Prepares geological, geophysical, and geotechnical plans to guide project execution
• Identifies and manages internal and external resources for geotechnical activities
• Ensure timely completion of investigation deliverables for project development
• Review external proposals to ensure proper scoping, references, manpower, and pricing
• Maintain health, safety, environmental, and social policies
• Maintains geotechnical/geophysical equipment for accuracy and reliability

Job description

As a Geophysics Staff, you will be responsible for providing geotechnical engineering and geophysical analysis and documentation on assigned projects of ARI to achieve the objective of developing and executing technically, financially, and commercially viable renewable energy projects contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Project Development and Execution team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Performs geotechnical and geological site assessment/ investigation to evaluate surface and subsurface conditions, including soil/rock properties, groundwater levels, geological structures and geohazards.
• Perform comprehensive analyses and calculations on slope stability and tunnel stress to ensure safe and efficient project design.
• Utilizing geophysical techniques (e.g., electrical resistivity, seismic refraction, ground penetrating radar) to collect field data and process it for interpretation.
• Analyzes and interprets geophysical and geotechnical data to determine design parameters and integrate results into foundation design, ensuring structural integrity and safety.
• Completes geotechnical, geologic, and geophysical reports
• Prepares geological, geophysical, and geotechnical plans to guide project execution and resource allocation.
• Identifies and manages internal and external Project resources required for geotechnical and geophysical activities, including building up development & site management teams.
• Ensure timely completion of geotechnical and geophysical investigation deliverables for Project development & Construction.
• Review and evaluate geotechnical and geophysical investigation proposals from external service providers to ensure proper scoping of services, terms of references compliance, availability of manpower, and pricing.
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, environmental, and social policies and guidelines established by Aboitiz Renewables Inc.
• Ensures all geotechnical and geophysical equipment are regularly maintained, checked, and calibrated to maintain accuracy and reliability.
• Exercises due diligence and administrative responsibility in establishing and maintaining systems that sustain essential operational functions, such as completing compliance requirements, updating documents and protocols, and other such organizational tasks for continuous improvement.
• Perform other related tasks as required

To Succeed in this Role, we need someone who:

• Is Able to plan and perform ERT geophysical survey; has basic understanding and experience on geophysical surveys
• Has intermediate understanding on interpretation of geophysical signatures through maps and profiles
• Is able to conduct surface inspection, characterize soil and rock properties and assess geological hazards onsite and use these information to mitigate project risks and for decision making
• Is able to conduct sub-surface inspection, extract soil and rock samples and submit for laboratory testing; provide detailed recommendations to relevant project teams based on the test results
• Is able to provide design and reports with accurate calculations and analysis focused on tunnel support, slope stability and foundations
• Is able to plan, organize, and direct/manage cross-functional teams (both internal teams and external stakeholders) through different deal phases, according to required timelines while ensuring quality deliverables across different workstreams; can mitigate and anticipate associated risks at each phase of a plan/project
• Is able to conduct and assess engineering calculations and analysis considering the actual site conditions and do necessary adjustments based on actual requirement
